A creative brain and corporate change

Fellow Substacker maja roglić posted this quote, and it lit me up. I wasn’t familiar with Marie-Louise von Franz and her Jungian work. The phrase “exaggerated dynamism” nails it.

I see this in myself in a big way. As an ex-poet and ex-musician who wanted to make enough money to pay the rent, my creative side has been funneled into work. And early in my career, I behaved a lot like the quote above. This untethered “floating charge of energy” (which I can feel) was always seeking an outlet, often in the wrong places.

But over the years, I have found ways to tap into my beautiful brain in the context of corporate software development.
